You know, a fairly good short sniper... (800M) A supernova, 6 ER Large, and enough clan double heat sinks to manage a steady chain fire. I've also done that same with 5 ER PPCs.

Compared to 900 or 1000, 800 is short. Plus, coming off Mech 4, where 900 and 1000 is a common enough sniping range, the ER Large just doesn't quite impress me as much.

In MW4 PR1 the ER Large Laser and Large Clan Pulse Laser both have an 800M range, so it's easy to understand this attitude.

In the MW3 world, though the large ER Laser is a great sniper tool as its range is longer.

I well remember one of my first run-throughs of the game when my leg got hacked off by a Supernova almost before I knew what was going on.

According to Sarna btech wiki, Clan ERLg range is 1000, while IS ERLg range is only 760.
In mech3 the weapons cannot be separated, they're the same weapon.

My point exactly. In MW3 the only difference (I believe) is weight and perhaps heat. WAY better than MW4.
