I dreamt the end of the world… again. This time it was some type of global epidemic that caused people to scab all over their body and then dry up and die. A small faction of people decided to hijack a space craft that was about to launch on some scientific mission. This is where I get involved… apparently I was on the team of scientists to embark into space. My role was nothing important, I guess I was just some type of technician but the hijackers needed me to gain access.
So here I am, taken hostage and boarding the space craft that is about to launch into space while the world below dies of this global epidemic. At some point I finally get them to realize I have no knowledge of the science mission and that I don’t know how to pilot the ship. They chose to take me in space anyway… a merciful act. However, I am infected with the plague and I tell them simply “If I’m going to die in a few hours… I’d rather it be down here.” Apparently the disease kills you in less then 24 hours.
After “driving” me from the hijack area to the launchpad in the stolen ship… they drop me off and the maniacs set off for outer space. The story has some irony at this point because apparently, I never got around to fixing the ship as I was ordered to. No doubt because of the hijacking… so it’s kinda funny as the ship comes apart during the takeoff as traveling at escape velocity will cause things to fall off.
The other ironic thing that happened was that I noticed a fellow victim that did not die at the usual time of death according to typical cycle the disease followed. This guy was “mostly dead” but was still breathing but no one bothered noticing because the world had lost all hope of surviving. I probably wouldn’t have noticed either if the hijackers had not left me at the launch pad where I found this guy. So I got the attention of a nearby medic and began to examine this “mostly dead” victim lying on the ground. What was so different about him? He had some fuel spilled on his arm… there must have been some chemical in it that caused the disease to break down… krikes I dunno. It just had something to do with getting fuel on your skin.
Viola, I save the world.
